SD Wind Energy is pleased to confirm that the SD6 Small Wind Turbine has achieved the new MCS Product Certification Standard which is an update to the latest revision of the RenewableUK Small Wind Turbine Standard.
The new updated standards - IEC 61400-2: 2013 for Design and IEC 61400-11: 2012 for Acoustics are an advancement of the robust set of standards that small wind turbine manufacturers must conform to in order to achieve formal product certification.
SD Wind Energy’s Managing Director – Richard Caldow commented:
“The Renewable UK Small Wind Standard is Internationally recognised as the benchmark in Small Wind Certification. We are delighted to be among the first to achieve this new standard which further strengthens our position in the market place whilst also demonstrating our commitment to our customers. We were the first company to achieve product certification at the inception of MCS and we will continue to invest and lead the small wind sector with all future advancements of product certification and in other markets”.
The new certification approval places SD at the forefront of small wind and for incentive programs where only approved products are eligible. The product standard is due to be updated in other international markets.
